STATEMENT FROM THE COMMITTEE

The Independent North Shields Supporters Association (INSSA) Committee would like to take this opportunity to respond to a recent statement from North Shields Football Club (NSFC), emailed to us on Sunday 26th July at 14:08 and then released publicly, shortly afterwards, by the club.

We are perplexed as to any perceived "confusion" around our positioning within the club structure.

We are and have always been clear: we are entirely independent of the club, as our name suggests and our constitution states unequivocally.

INSSA, since its inception (which preceded the takeover in 2024) has always striven to be open and honest with our members and has been transparent in its dealings with monies raised, and donated to NSFC.

We are proud to have been able to support the club financially, and have donated by way of numerous sponsorships, and direct donations, to date - £10,247.

We appreciate that the club have acknowledged our significant contributions, made in good faith and only made possible through the hard work of our volunteers, the support of everyone who participates in our weekly draw and those who have attended our fundraising events.

All we have ever asked when sponsorship, or donations have been made is that a receipt is provided for our accounts and that we are acknowledged in the same manner as any other sponsor, or donor would be.

We have endeavoured throughout the summer to engage with the club and continue to support them, but they have consistently failed to adequately respond to our offers of sponsorship.

We are therefore disappointed at having been seemingly stymied from financially supporting NSFC's promotion efforts this upcoming season, however we remain open to engaging the club in dialogue around our members' interests and exploring ways in which we can work together in the future.

We will keep members updated, and consult with them in due course on future developments.
